Conscious Uncoupling: Creating Calm and Clarity Through Divorce
In this heartfelt and deeply practical episode of Revolutionise Your Love Life, Heather Garbutt is joined by senior family solicitor Colette Bain. With warmth, wisdom, and sensitivity, Colette shares her invaluable insight into navigating separation and divorce with dignity, clarity, and compassion.
Far from the combative courtroom narratives we often hear, this episode focuses on conscious uncoupling—an approach to separation that honours emotional wellbeing, mutual respect, and long-term peace. Colette offers expert guidance on how to build a supportive network (“your tribe”), how to seek out trustworthy advice early on, and why staying out of the “trauma drama triangle” is key.
Together, Heather and Colette explore the emotional and practical aspects of separation: from looking after yourself through the process, to working with professionals who match your values, to using SMART targets to reduce overwhelm and stay grounded. It’s an empowering listen for anyone facing a relationship transition—filled with encouragement, honesty, and actionable steps.
